It’s Almost Rent Day!

Tl;dr: don’t miss your chance for free Hilton Gold elite status.

Rent Day is coming up again on Tuesday, and this month’s highlight is free Hilton Gold status for all Bilt members. Although this offer doesn’t offer the enormous value of some past Rent Day extravaganzas, as a free perk it’s pretty sweet. 🎂

As always, you can earn up to 1,000 bonus points via double points on non-rent spending, play to win free rent with the in-app Rent Free game, earn extra points in the Neighborhood dining program, along with some other minor benefits and promos on Virgin Voyages (details here). But let’s talk about that Hilton status boost.

How do you normally get Hilton status?

You normally have to stay 10 nights, complete 4 different stays or earn 25,000 Base Points to earn Silver status at Hilton. Gold requires 40 Nights, 20 stays, or 75,000 Base Points. And Diamond, Hilton’s Highest tier, requires 60 nights, 30 stays, or 120,000 Base Points.

You can also unlock Hilton status with credit cards. Among personal credit cards, the no-fee American Express Hilton Honors card comes with Silver status, the $150-fee Amex Hilton Surpass and $695-fee Amex Platinum offer Gold status, and the $550-fee Hilton Aspire comes with Diamond status.

What do you get with Hilton status?

Along with a few less-noteworthy benefits (spa discount, anyone? 💆) Silver status at Hilton comes with free bottled water and a 5th night free when booking with points, while Gold status unlocks space-available (key word) room upgrades, and a daily food and beverage credit or continental breakfast if the hotel does not provide a complimentary breakfast. Gold members also get an 80% bonus on points, meaning most stays will earn 18 Hilton points per dollar when booking directly through Hilton.

Diamond members (a status you can unlock through this promotion—more on that below) can also get space-available suite upgrades, lounge access, 100% bonus points, and premium wifi, among other things.

How do you unlock Hilton status with Bilt?

Any Bilt member can request Hilton status in the app between 12:00 AM Eastern and 11:59pm Pacific on Rent Day, October 1, 2024. Gold status can take up to 10 days to receive, and will be good through the end of 2024.

How do you keep or upgrade the status?

Bilt members can maintain their status and extend it until March 31, 2026, by staying 8 nights before the end of 2024.

Bilt members can also bump themselves up to Diamond status. Here’s where Bilt status comes in. Blue (base), Silver, and Gold Bilt members can earn Diamond status through March 31, 2026, by staying 14 nights before the end of 2024, while Bilt Platinum members can earn that status by staying just 10 nights.

Conclusion

Whether as a way to enjoy some extra perks with Hilton if you happen into one of their hotels in the next three months, or as a way to fast-track yourself to Hilton elite status for over a year to come, this status match is an outstanding benefit for members of Bilt’s free rewards program.
