Our Site Guide

We have been online for about 6 months now! While we’re still figuring things out (and feedback is welcome), the website is starting to round into form. So now that the site has a few elements to it, here is a quick tour of what’s on offer:

The Blog

On the homepage, the main thing you will see is our recent blog posts. At first, I wasn’t sure what I was going to write about, but the new developments and opportunities with various credit cards, frequent flyer programs, and so on come in so thick and fast it’s actually a little hard to keep up! Some of the highlights of the blog are:

Big points and miles opportunities

We try to point people to special offers on great credit cards, like this recent chance for 90,000 miles ($900+ in travel) with the Capital One Venture X, these big bonus offers on Amex cards, or this opportunity to earn a statement credit plus 140,000 IHG points on the best hotel credit card out there.

Money saving and point-earning hacks

It’s not all about the big flashy bonuses, though. Even if you don’t want a new credit card, there are tons of ways to save more money and earn more points toward free travel. For example, doing your shopping via a shopping portal, or picking up extra airline miles when booking an Airbnb or making your morning coffee run.

The laziest points

We realize that not everyone wants to work too hard for points, so we try to point out set-and-forget opportunities like this easy way to save money any time you happen into a Shell station or dining programs that can net you easy miles or cash back without even a thought.

The Resources

At the top of the site, you will also see a link to some basic resources we have compiled. This includes an intro to points basics and a list of our favorite credit cards for newcomers. There’s also our list of hacks to save money or earn extra points (and perks) on flights and hotels, some of which might be useful even if you’re a points veteran.

If you’re in the market for a new card, check out our tools page, which has several spreadsheets that will allow you to compare the benefits of certain cards all in one place.

The Referrals

After flying to Japan and Chile for a grand total of $138 this year (and taking two free trips with our IHG Premier, and still having tons of points left over), we’re excited to let people know about the opportunities that are out there to make the most of their plastic.

If you would like to support our efforts, consider taking advantage of the referral links at the bottom of our resources page. You’ll get a sign-up bonus (usually as good as or better than the publicly advertised offer, but we recommend that you double-check!), and we’ll get a small bonus as well to sustain the site. It would be a big help, and potentially a big win-win

Conclusion

I hope that helps you navigate the site, and if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to drop us a line via the contact form at the bottom of the homepage!
