Lazy Points of the Week
Story of the week
Bilt points for home purchases. The Bilt card is already an indispensable card for renters, but its looking to expand its horizons. They just announced that they are adding a points benefits for the purchase of a home. There’s a catch: you’ll have to work with an eXp Realty agent. That might not always be the best choice, but if you do, you’ll get 1 point for every $2 of the purchase price, meaning a $200,000 home would net you 100,000 Bilt points—easily enough to celebrate your new home with an international trip or two.
Other card and points news
Free coffee at the Capital One Cafe. I wanted to highlight this post from Thrifty Traveler about Capital One Cafes. They are open to all, but if you have a Capital One card (like the Venture X) you can get 50% off handcrafted beverages. And if you want to try it out, you can get a free beverage here.
Sign up bonus of the week
If you’re a regular United flyer, a co-branded credit card from Chase could be a great addition to your wallet. The $95-fee (free the first year) Explorer is a great option to expand your lounge options with 2 one-time lounge passes each year in addition to standard benefits like a free checked bag and priority boarding. The $250-fee Quest comes with an annual $125 credit toward United purchases, a second free checked bag, and 5,000 United miles back when you make an award booking, up to twice per year. And the $525-fee Club Infinite offers United Club access.
These cards have near-record high welcome bonuses: 60k on the Explorer, 70k on the Quest, and 90k on the Club Infinite.
Previously highlighted cards with bonus offers still available:
•75,000 points on the Citi Strata Premier
•$200 Amazon gift card on the Amazon Prime Visa
