New: Earn 100k Miles on This AA Card
Tl;dr: Even with its high fee, the lounge benefits and huge bonus might make this a worthwhile card for some people.
A few months ago, Citi’s $595-fee American Airlines Executive Mastercard got a refresh and a 100k-mile launch offer. Well, that offer is back again and if you’ve got a few hundred dollars in annual fee money burning a hole in your pocket, you might want to take advantage.
You can read my previous review here, but here’s why I’m very tempted to apply for this card right now: 110k points (the bonus plus the minimum 10k you’ll earn on spending to get the bonus) is most of the way to the 140k it would take for two tickets to Japan. Bilt is still an AA transfer partner until June 24, so I could transfer 30k miles and my wife and I could fly to Japan together on this bonus plus a few extra points from my stash. There’s also a ton of ways to rack up extra AA miles like earning on gas, hotel stays, dining out, or card spending. And thanks to this card, both of us could enjoy the Admirals Club and/or Sakura Lounge on our trip. Personally, I’d be willing to pay a few hundred dollars for that kind of trip.
