Earn Extra Rewards with Marriott and Starbucks

More Starbucks news! Starbucks aficionados can already link their Delta and Starbucks accounts to earn SkyMiles on Starbucks account reloads and Double Stars on travel days. Thanks to a new collaboration, you can earn more Stars or rewards points by linking your Starbucks and Marriott Bonvoy accounts.

As part of the new tie-up, you will earn Double Stars on days where you stay at a Marriott property as well as 100 Marriott Bonvoy points if you make three qualifying purchases during announced “Marriott Bonvoy Weeks” (the first will be July 8-14). There will also be “exclusive coffee- and travel-themed experiences on Marriott Bonvoy Moments” (meh).

The benefits aren’t spectacular, but this is a great set-and-forget 🦥 benefit. You can simply link the account and enjoy the benefits if you ever happen to order Starbucks while staying at a Marriott. If you tend to stop by Starbucks on the way to work, for example, you might stumble into some extra Marriott points without even noticing. Moreover, it doesn’t look like you’ll have to choose between Marriott and Delta, nothing in the rules says you can’t link both accounts (I assume you can’t double dip on the Double Star days, though).
