Big New Bonus Amex Offers from Resy

Tl;dr: Go to Resy to get your next Amex card for maximum points.

I’ve already discussed why the Amex Gold is an incredible card, especially if you eat out a lot. And one of these days I’ll get around to talking about Amex’s Platinum and its range of incredible perks like the best airport lounge access in the business.

Although the cards are great, to really get the most out of them, it’s best to sign up when a special offer is available. Currently, both the Platinum and Gold cards are offering their standard welcome bonuses: 80,000 and 60,000 points, respectively. That’s not bad–it’s easily $600-800 in flights, good for a free trip to Europe, at a minimum.  But I was recently able to refer friends and family members to the Gold card for 90,000 points and a $200 statement credit. That’s an extra $500+ in rewards just with a little patience and good timing.

There’s currently another great deal that lets you beat Amex’s standard public offer–this time, without needing any Gold-card-holding connections. Dining reservations site Resy has teamed with Amex to offer some significantly boosted incentives to sign up for the Platinum, Gold, or Blue Cash Everyday. The welcome bonus is 100,000 points for the Platinum and 75,000 for the Gold, a $150-200+ boost to your rewards just by signing up via Resy instead of Amex. The Gold card also comes with 20% back as a statement credit on restaurant purchases in the first 12 months, up to $250.  The Platinum, meanwhile, will earn 10x points on dining purchases for 6 months, up to $25,000 in purchases. You’d have to be a pretty high roller to take full advantage of that, but if you spend $6,000 dining out in six months, that’d be 60,000 points, or easily enough to fly on points to Europe (again).

Also in the mix here is the Blue Cash Everyday. While you probably won’t be able to take an ocean-spanning vacation just by signing up for this card, it’s a great fit for people who want a no-fee card with a strong, simple earning structure. It offers 3% cash back (in the form of a statement credit) on three super-valuable categories: groceries, gas, and online retail (up to $6,000 annually, per category), and a discount on certain Hulu/Disney/ESPN+ subscriptions. By signing up via Resy, you can earn a welcome bonus of $200 and earn 10% back on restaurants–up to $150–in the six months.

If you’re in the market for any of these cards, be sure to head over to Resy!
